Euro Area Annual Inflation Rises to 3.2% in May 2026
Eurostat reports that the euro area annual inflation rate rose to 3.2% in May 2026, up from 3.0% in April. The EU annual inflation rate increased to 3.3%. Services and energy were the main contributors to the rise.

Euro Area Government Debt Rises to 88.9% of GDP in Q1 2026
Eurostat reports that the euro area government debt-to-GDP ratio rose to 88.9% in Q1 2026, up from 87.7% in Q4 2025. The EU ratio increased to 82.9%. Notable increases were seen in Hungary, Lithuania, and France, while Greece recorded the largest decrease.
