EU Parliament Approves New Circularity Rules for Automotive Sector

The European Parliament has given final approval to new EU rules covering the entire lifecycle of vehicles, from design to end-of-life treatment. Key measures include mandatory recycled plastic content in new vehicles (15% within six years, 25% within ten), extended producer responsibility, and a ban on exporting vehicles declared unfit for road use. The regulation will apply 24 months after formal adoption by the Council.

Eurostat Q2 2026 Flash Estimates: Euro Area GDP +0.4%, Employment +0.1%

Eurostat's flash estimates show euro area GDP grew by 0.4% in Q2 2026, up from stagnation in Q1, and employment rose by 0.1%. EU GDP grew by 0.5%.
