ECB selects 36 PSPs for digital euro pilot
The European Central Bank has selected 36 payment service providers from across the euro area to participate in the digital euro pilot, following over 50 applications. The pilot will test technical functionality, operational processes, and user experience, starting in the second half of 2027 for 12 months. Selected PSPs include banks and non-banks, ensuring broad geographical and business model diversity.
