European Commission Proposes Cybersecurity Act Revision Package with NIS2 Targeted Amendments
On 20 January 2026, the European Commission published a Cybersecurity Act revision package, comprising a regulation revising the Cybersecurity Act and a directive with targeted amendments to NIS2. The package introduces an EU trust framework for ICT supply chain risk, a strengthened ENISA role, a renewed certification framework, and NIS2 simplifications. The proposals now enter the EU legislative process; the Belgian CCB invites stakeholders to share views to help shape Belgium's position.

Cyber Resilience Act: EU reporting obligation enters into force
From 11 September 2026, manufacturers of products with digital elements must report actively exploited vulnerabilities and severe product security incidents through ENISA's single reporting platform. Belgium's CCB, acting as national CSIRT, will process notifications addressed to Belgium and forward them to other competent authorities. Reporting follows a 24-hour early warning, 72-hour notification and final report sequence.
