In 2024, the total pension gap among pensioners with 25-29 years of career stood at 13%, down from 16% in 2021. The data highlights differences between statutory and supplementary pensions.

A new dataset from Sigedis analyses the total pension (statutory plus supplementary) for employed pensioners in Belgium by salary and career length. It shows a gender pension gap that widens with salary, but supplementary pensions help reduce the gap for mid-to-high earners. The data covers new pensioners from 2021 to 2024 with careers of 35-39 years.
