Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union on the alignment of certain third countries with Council Decision (CFSP) 2026/1837 of 24 July 2026 amending Decision (CFSP) 2023/1532 concerning restrictive measures in view of Iran’s military support to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and to armed groups and entities in the Middle East and the Red Sea region as well as Iran’s actions undermining freedom of navigation in the Middle East.

Eurostat Q2 2026 Flash Estimates: Euro Area GDP +0.4%, Employment +0.1%
Eurostat's flash estimates show euro area GDP grew by 0.4% in Q2 2026, up from stagnation in Q1, and employment rose by 0.1%. EU GDP grew by 0.5%. The data indicate moderate economic expansion and resilient labour markets, relevant for assessing the macroeconomic environment for compliance and risk management.

Eurostat: Euro Area Goods Trade Surplus €8.6 bn in June 2026
Eurostat reported a €8.6 bn euro area trade in goods surplus for June 2026, up from €4.8 bn a year earlier, as exports grew 14.4% and imports 13.1%. The EU overall posted a €3.9 bn surplus in June, but a €14.9 bn deficit in the first half of 2026. The data signals improving export performance, notably in chemicals, despite a wider energy deficit.
