EBA Revises POG Guidelines to Address Greenwashing in ESG Retail Products
The European Banking Authority (EBA) has published revised Guidelines on product oversight and governance (POG) for retail banking products, clarifying requirements for ESG features and addressing greenwashing risks. The amendments make ESG and greenwashing considerations explicit throughout the product lifecycle, including target market identification, distribution channels, and information provided to distributors. The Guidelines apply from 11 January 2027.
