On 16 July 2026, Tracfin and the French Customs Authority (DGDDI) signed a protocol to enhance operational cooperation in combating money laundering, drug trafficking, and organized crime. The agreement focuses on joint work, mutual knowledge, and inter-service mobility.

The video explains how Tracfin uses blockchain analysis tools, its legal powers to request information from over 50 categories of professionals, and international cooperation with 180 other FIUs to trace and disrupt money laundering and terrorist financing.

Tracfin integrates whistleblower framework as of 1 July 2026
As of 1 July 2026, Tracfin, the French financial intelligence unit, is authorised to receive and process whistleblower reports. This extension, based on the Sapin 2 law and Decree No. 2026-311, allows individuals outside the traditional obligated entities to report suspected money laundering or terrorist financing directly to Tracfin.
