Europees Parlement roept op tot EU-sancties tegen Cuba en steun voor transitie
Het Europees Parlement heeft op 18 juni 2026 een resolutie aangenomen waarin de systematische repressie in Cuba wordt veroordeeld en wordt opgeroepen tot gerichte EU-sancties tegen Cubaanse functionarissen, waaronder president Miguel Díaz-Canel, en tot opschorting van de EU-Cuba-samenwerkingsovereenkomst als democratische transitie uitblijft. De resolutie eist ook de onmiddellijke vrijlating van alle politieke gevangenen en meer humanitaire hulp.

Eurostat flashraming Q2 2026: bbp +0,4% en werkgelegenheid +0,1% in de eurozone
De flashramingen van Eurostat tonen een bbp-groei van 0,4% in de eurozone in Q2 2026, na een stagnatie in Q1, en een stijging van de werkgelegenheid met 0,1%. Het bbp van de EU groeide met 0,5%. Deze gegevens wijzen op een gematigde economische expansie en een veerkrachtige arbeidsmarkt, relevant voor de beoordeling van het macro-economische klimaat voor compliance en risicobeheer.
