AMLA Chair highlights financial integrity as a driver of innovation

On 4 September 2026, AMLA Chair Bruna Szegő addressed the relationship between financial integrity and innovation at the Central Bank of Montenegro’s 25th Anniversary Conference. She stressed that strong AML/CFT safeguards and trust can support, rather than hinder, financial innovation. The speech highlighted the role of technology in identifying financial-crime risks, the importance of harmonised rules and the need for agile AML/CFT frameworks capable of responding to emerging innovations. Crypto-assets were cited as an example of innovation being incorporated into the EU framework through MiCAR and the new AML/CFT package. The speech provides strategic insight into AMLA’s approach but does not introduce new compliance obligations.

AMLA launches survey on Central Contact Points for EMIs and PSPs

AMLA has launched a survey inviting Electronic Money Institutions (EMIs) and Payment Service Providers (PSPs) to share operational experiences with the current Central Contact Point (CCP) framework under Article 45(9) AMLD and Delegated Regulation (EU) 2018/1108. Feedback will inform AMLA's preparatory work on a future Regulatory Technical Standard under Article 41(2) AMLD and will be summarised in a published report. The survey is open until 15 September 2026.
