FSMA AMLCO Newsletter: Focus on Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs)

The FSMA suspended trading in the National Bank of Belgium's financial instruments on Euronext Brussels from 9:00 CET on 2 September 2026, pending the publication of a press release. Trading was subsequently reopened on 3 September.

Continuing Professional Training 2026 for accredited auditors
The FSMA will organise two in-person continuing professional training sessions for accredited auditors in November 2026, covering occupational retirement institutions, investment undertakings, management companies and regulated real estate companies. FSMA to Assess AML/CFT Expertise of Insurance Intermediary AMLCOs in 2026
The Belgian FSMA announced it will assess during the last four months of 2026 the level of AML/CFT expertise and knowledge of AMLCOs at insurance intermediaries. Firms and AMLCOs are urged to review their current arrangements and remedy any deficiencies before the assessment. The detailed newsletter is available only in French and Dutch.
