ESMA Publishes Register of External Reviewers Under EuGB Regulation
ESMA has published the official register of firms authorised to act as external reviewers for European Green Bonds under the EuGB Regulation. As of 22 June 2026, only registered reviewers may provide services, and the transitional regime has ended. Issuers must consult the register to select compliant reviewers for pre- and post-issuance reviews.

ESMA Confirms 3 September 2026 Go-Live for Weekly Commodity Derivatives Position Reporting
ESMA has confirmed that the new weekly commodity derivatives position reporting framework will go live on 3 September 2026. Market participants will need to submit weekly position reports in line with XML schema v2.0 and the updated reporting instructions. The technical documentation is now available to support implementation.

ESAs Propose to Simplify EMIR Bilateral Margin Rules for Sub-€8bn Counterparties
The European Supervisory Authorities (EBA, EIOPA and ESMA) have published a final report proposing amendments to the bilateral margin requirements under EMIR. The draft RTS would exempt counterparties below the €8 billion initial margin threshold from exchanging initial margin on both new and existing uncleared OTC derivative contracts. The proposal aims to reduce burden and align the EU framework more closely with other jurisdictions.
