AMF President Opens Conference on European Market Abuse Litigation
In a speech on 17 June 2026, AMF President Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani highlighted the 10th anniversary of the EU Market Abuse Regulation and the French law creating the referral procedure between the AMF and the PNF. She noted that France has imposed the highest aggregate sanctions in the EU for market abuse, with the AMF opening an average of 45 investigations per year since 2016.

The update clarifies when CIFs must obtain authorisation as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (PSCA) to provide personalised crypto-asset advice, as the previous transitional regime is now obsolete.

Entry into Force of EU MiCA Regulation: Consequences for Crypto Holders
On 1 July 2026, the transition period for the French crypto regime ended, fully replaced by the EU MiCA framework. Only authorized Crypto Asset Service Providers (CASPs) can offer services in France. The AMF warns investors to check the whitelist and beware of scams.
