AMLA consults on harmonised risk assessments for non-financial sector
The European Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) has launched a public consultation on draft regulatory technical standards for a harmonised methodology to assess money laundering and terrorist financing risks in the non-financial sector. The proposed rules aim to ensure consistent risk assessment across Member States for businesses such as legal practices, estate agencies, and gambling operators, with tailored data points and reduced reporting burdens for smaller entities. The consultation is open until 10 September 2026, with a public hearing on the same day, and the methodology is expected to apply from 31 December 2028.
