MiCA Transition Period Ends: VASPs Must Now Be Authorised CASPs
As of 1 July 2026, the MiCA transition period for virtual asset service providers (VASPs) in the EU has ended. Providers without authorisation as crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) must cease offering services to EU customers, except for orderly wind-down activities. The CSSF warns consumers to verify their provider's status and highlights risks of improper reliance on the reverse solicitation exemption.
